Proposed Amendments to Riverside County Ordinance No. 620

"Inspection and Testing of Non-Commercial Weighing and Measuring Instruments" Ordinance

The Riverside County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is committed to upholding the highest standards of consumer protection and ensuring fair market practices. As part of this commitment, we regularly review and adjust our policies and fee structures to better align with operational costs and statutory requirements.
In accordance with this, we are proposing several amendments to Ordinance No. 620, which governs the imposition of charges for the inspection and testing of certain commercial and non-commercial weighing and measuring instruments.
These changes are essential to ensure that our Weights and Measures program continues to provide high-quality services, including inspection, enforcement, and public complaint resolution, thereby promoting equity and consumer confidence in the marketplace.
The proposed fee schedule will be presented to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors on August 27, 2024. If approved, the new fees will take effect on August 28, 2024.
