As of January 1st, 2026, all EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) will be required to comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, which include type certification, before being placed in service for commercial use. When selecting and installing EVSE, please ensure that:

The EVSE is type approved if being installed for commercial purpose, such that the fee for any transaction is based upon the quantity of energy delivered as motor vehicle fuel.

The EVSE operating commercially must be placed in service by a Registered Service Agency (RSA).
